Pick your cake’s shape, size and slice style to see how many people it serves, from casual party slices to slim wedding portions.
Servings depend on the cake’s surface area and how big each slice is. Casual party slices are about 2×2 inches; formal event slices about 1.5×2; and the classic wedding slice is a slim 1×2 inches, which is why wedding cakes “serve” far more people than they look.
| Round cake | Party | Wedding |
|---|---|---|
| 6-inch | ~7 | ~14 |
| 8-inch | ~12 | ~25 |
| 9-inch | ~16 | ~32 |
| 10-inch | ~19 | ~39 |
| 12-inch | ~28 | ~56 |
For tiered cakes, add the servings of each tier together.
A 9-inch round serves about 16 party slices (2×2 in) or up to ~32 thin wedding slices (1×2 in).
